The shop expanded from a 1,666-square-foot space inside Norwood’s Factory 52 to a standalone location on one of Cincinnati’s busiest corridors. The new lease runs four years.

A luxury clothing and footwear retailer has relocated from its former space inside a prominent Cincinnati-area development.

Motion Head to Toe Luxury, owned by Mitchell Wolfe, moved to 4539 Montgomery Road in Surrey Square in Norwood from its original space at 2710 Park Ave. inside Norwood’s Factory 52. The store operated for three years at Factory 52 before reopening in its new location July 11.

Wolfe signed a four-year lease for the 1,985-square-foot space June 15, expanding from its former 1,666-square-foot shop at Factory 52. 3CRE’s Zakir Muradov represented the tenant, while Tryfon Christoforou and Colton Oliver represented the landlord in a dual-agency deal.

Though Wolfe was in search of a larger space for Motion, he told me he didn’t want to go far and was hoping to stay in the Norwood neighborhood where he resides.

“I like Norwood a lot. It’s central to the city, and I feel like it’s growing,” he said. “My age group likes the Hyde Park and Oakley areas. … I like being in the middle of the city, whether you live north, south, east, west, for a majority of people, Norwood is 10 to 15 minutes away.”

Motion offers a wide selection of unisex, luxury streetwear, shoes, accessories and vintage items you normally can’t find at typical clothing retailer. In addition, the shop accepts similar products from customers for cash or for a trade of another item.

Christoforou told me Motion was the ideal tenant for the property because of its established reputation in the Cincinnati market, its successful multilocation retail operations and its long-standing presence in the streetwear and athletic footwear industry. In addition to Norwood, Wolfe has a Motion location in Indianapolis.

“The company’s strong brand recognition, loyal customer base and proven operating history made it a highly desirable tenant from the landlord’s perspective,” Christoforou said. “…Securing a well-known local retailer with multiple operating locations strengthened the property’s tenant roster, enhanced its visibility within the community and provided confidence in the tenant’s long-term operational stability.”

The building on Montgomery Road has two separate but adjacent spaces, one of which Motion is filling, with apartment units above. Space A is 2,225 square feet, currently vacant and available to be leased.

“It’s set up as a retail space, so we’re looking for any quality retail tenant that is interested in a long-term lease,” Christoforou said.

Motion joins several Norwood tenants in Surrey Square, like McDonald’s, Kroger, KFC, U.S. Bank, Skyline and Chipotle on Montgomery Road. The street is one of the busiest in the Cincinnati area and serves as a primary corridor running from the city’s urban core to the northern suburbs.
