Are you a Cincinnati Reds fan and a baseball fan in general? Even fans of another team would enjoy visiting the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and Museum. In fact, everyone would love a trip to this museum. It is part of history, and it’s a unique place of interest to visit while you’re in The Queen City. The HOF began in 1958, and it features 81 inductees.

If you know baseball, think back to the people that have played for the Reds. Who would you say is the best player of all time? You might be thinking what I’m thinking. The person I would pick is one of the best players to ever wear a Reds uniform. Arguably, he is ‘the best,’ but his career was tarnished. He was subsequently kept out of the MLB Hall of Fame and has been for years. His name is Pete Rose.

The man could steal some bases, and he could hit. He could play baseball period. It wasn’t until 2016 that they allowed Pete Rose into the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame. As mentioned, he still isn’t a member of the MLB Hall of Fame. While Pete Rose was quite the player, there are others in Cincinnati Reds history that are superstars, too.

For example, you have Johnny Bench. And what about Sparky Anderson? Adam Dunn is a more recent inductee. The guy is a beast. He strikes out often, but he would get up there to the plate and belt home runs. I remember when the Reds were playing the Cardinals in the playoffs, and Adam Dunn was a big part of the opposing force.

What about Ken Griffey Sr and Ken Griffey Jr? When you talk about players like Pete Rose, controversy is always part of the conversation. Ken Griffey Jr, on the other hand, is a very likable player. He donned a Reds uniform for years, and he was just as good at playing the field as he was at hitting the ball. He reminds me a lot of my favorite player ever to wear a uniform, Jim Edmonds.

Joe Morgan is another one of the inductees. Frank Robinson and Sam Crawford are two others. It was mentioned that the Hall of Fame began in 1958 in terms of inductees, but the actual museum wasn’t opened until 2004. The building it is housed in is comprised of more than 15,000 square feet. You’re going to see so much memorabilia when you visit.

Walk Among The Legends

The Reds Hall of Fame is off of Joe Nuxhall Way. You might as well tour Great American Ballpark and catch a game, too. Be sure you take plenty of pictures to document your trip. Get your dose of The Big Red Machine as they say. Take the guided tour, and walk among the legends that have sported a Cincinnati Reds uniform.

I mentioned Pete Rose earlier. There is a Pete Rose section in the HOF according to reviews. I say that because guess what you’re going to find there. You’re going to get to see a Ty Cobb bat. Now that is really cool.

Have you ever wondered about the speed of your fastball? Pitching simulation is available, and there are other interactive displays at the HOF, too. You get to see the World Series trophies, too. There is quite a lot of history on display at the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame Museum in The Queen City.

The interactive exhibits are part of why it would be an attraction that everyone would enjoy. It’s not like you’re simply walking around looking at history on display. You’re going to be having a lot of fun checking out everything there is to do at the museum. For a baseball fan, the history is certainly going to be fun though, especially when it comes to the names you recognize.

I’m an avid baseball fan, and I don’t recognize half the names on the list of the inductees. I have certainly not been around long enough to see most of them play. Names like Johnny Bench are familiar, but I never saw him play a single game. So this would be an education for me, and it would be fun for you, too.
