Fruit Hill OH, a suburb of The Queen City, is home to about 4000 people. Part of Hamilton County, the CDP is given an A by a reputable source regarding places in Ohio to live. The total area of Fruit Hill is only about one and a half square miles. The public school system in Fruit Hill gets an A+. It’s really interesting because many of the suburbs of Cincinnati have similar grades for individual categories like housing, public schools, diversity, nightlife, etc.

That means that you can expect the surrounding suburbs of Cincinnati to be quite fluid. They are a lot like each other, yet there are the differences, too. For example, Fruit Hill has known for its median home value is much less than several of the other suburbs. I was just looking at another suburb though whose median home value was right around the same amount, $150k.

In neighborhoods with lower median home values, you expect to see a large percentage of renters, right? That’s not the case in Fruit Hill, and it’s also not the case in the other similar neighborhood. Both areas are made up of approximately 85 percent homeowners. That was a surprising but good statistic. There is nothing wrong with renters of course, but families are often looking for more well-established neighborhoods that are predominantly homeowners.

There are certainly other Cincinnati suburbs that have a better ranking, but those are still good numbers. Most of the suburbs around Cincinnati are great places to live, and Fruit Hill is no different.

What really interested me, too, is that the first four listings I saw for homes in Fruit Hill happen to be right near the median home value. For the other similar neighborhood I was looking at earlier, the first several home listings I looked at were all over the place. It leads me to believe that most of the homes you find in Fruit Hill are going to be priced in the $125k to $160k range. If that sounds good to you, then maybe Fruit Hill is the first Cincinnati suburb you should look at when trying to find the right home for your family.
